I started my career as a Social Worker at a child protection organisation and then went to work at the Department of Social Development, rendering services to early child development centres. In 2014, I started working at Tara Psychiatric Hospital in Johannesburg, specialising in mental health and acquired a special interest in working with eating disorders. I successfully opened my private practice in 2018 and have, more recently, been consulting on The Day Clinic programme as well as well as still consulting at the Chevrah Kadisha, after acting as their social work supervisor and acting manager for their mental health facility in 2022.
I work with both adults and adolescents, using CBT and DBT methodology, using a wealth of experience and knowledge from being a clinical and statutory social worker in the child protection services.
I have a special interest in working with eating disorders, having worked on the inpatient Eating Disorders unit at Tara Hospital and believe in the importance of using a holistic approach to treatment, including counselling for parental/spousal/caregivers so that they may walk the journey of recovery with their child or loved one.
